A regret is simply defined as something that individuals have done or failed to do. ‘If it’s good, it’s wonderful. If it’s bad, it’s experience’, Victoria Holt quoted. In this article the aim is to ensure that people realise that certain events occur for a reason in life, and they should not live with regrets in life. It is true when they say that everything we do in life has negative or positive impact on our lives.
People are encouraged to live their lives to the fullest because they only live once, but that should be done cautiously to avoid regrets. Although we have multiple life roles at some point in life, we should also remember that we are individuals and we need to make ourselves happy first before our energies circulate in our various settings in public (a happy person shares positive energy), but we should always leave room for disappointment and improvement to avoid regrets, because sometimes things do not turn out the way we want them to be at times. Most significantly people should know what they want in life, instead of other individuals making decisions for them (for instance, teenagers forced by their parents to do courses in varsity which they do not want).
As we go back to the drawing board of the quote which was previously mentioned in the first stanza, if we experience good things in life it is a wonderful thing, but if it is bad we learn from it and refrain from the repetition in the future. After all we can all say that experience is the best teacher in our lives.
