Learners face obstacles on a daily basis at home and at school, and due to observations in society I have noticed that it is not easy for them to open up about their troubles.

The main focus in this article is for educators to understand the behaviour of learners.Learners need a lot of guidance at school academically and with their lives in general in such a way that school becomes their second home and educators need to play their vital roles of being their parents at school.

Children grasp information in various ways and their attention and concentration span will never be at the same level, due to their uniqueness.Educators need to intervene if they feel as if learners’ backgrounds affect their performance at school by communicating with their parents, for them to prepare a safe and open environment at school for them to have the ability to express themselves as unique individuals.

Parents on the other hand also need to assist educators on a daily basis by asking their children questions about how their day was at school, and which activities they have done so far to create a sense of belonging and utmost importance.

It is true when they say that “it takes a village to raise a child”,and I can attest to that because my parents communicated with my educators every single year to ask about my performance and behaviour.

All in all, learners need to be groomed for future generations and their parents and educators need to understand them.
